The Eucharist

The wearing of masks for services and concerts is mandatory

Exceptions: those with a medical condition which means they cannot wear a mask and children under 11 years of age

Entry into church and seating

People will be asked to wear masks and challenged if they are not wearing a mask.

(This will help to prevent the spread of air bourn CV19)

Singing

People will be asked by the incumbent to wear masks during singing unless leading singing from the front of the church.

(This will help to prevent the spread of air bourn CV19)

 

Giving the peace

People will be asked to wave to each other from their seats

(This will help to prevent the spread of air bourn CV19)(

 

Receiving Communion

People will be asked to approach the altar in single file.

 

Communion will be given in one kind

(This will prevent contact via the chalice)

 

Hand sanitizers will be available on the ambo and organ

(This will allow people to clean their hands after contact with the bread).

The leader of the service will point out the options as they are invited to communion.

  

Refreshments

Refreshments will be served

 

People will be asked to respect other people’s vulnerabilities and keep distance of 1m where appropriate

Ventilation

Windows will be opened to allow ventilation.  Doors need not be kept open.

With our building being so tall, and hot air rising, people will not be forced to mingle in air which has been breather out by their fellow participants.  That air will take four hours to fall back down to floor level. 

 

Toilets

Toilets will be in use.

 

Notices advising people to wash their hands will be in place

This will decrease any possibility of passing on Cv19 by physical contact

Christingle

Hunting Crib Figures

The figures will be placed on seats within the nave

 

Children will be asked to call out and guide the service leader to the figures rather than hunt for them.

Giving out of Christingles

The Christingles will be given out as people approach the front of the church in single file

 

The Christingles will be lit when people are seated and tapers will be taken to the end of each row

(This will prevent contact as people collect their Christingles)

 

We will not process on this occasion

(This will help to prevent the spread of air bourn CV19)
