Hire St George's Church
St George's Church, Kemptown is one of Brighton's finest Regency landmarks, offering a beautiful and atmospheric setting for concerts, performances, talks, exhibitions, filming and community events. With its elegant architecture, exceptional acoustics and flexible layout, it provides a unique venue just moments from Brighton seafront.
Over the years, St George's has welcomed an outstanding range of internationally acclaimed artists including Patti Smith, Sigur Rós, Swans, Low, The Handsome Family, Devendra Banhart, Martha Wainwright, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Joan As Police Woman, Noah & The Whale, Johnny Flynn, Brian May, Michael Kiwanuka, Courtney Pine and many more. Alongside world-class live music, the church regularly hosts classical concerts, choral performances, theatre productions, lectures, festivals, exhibitions and community events, making it one of Brighton's most distinctive cultural venues. just moments from the seafront.
Venue Hire
Performance / Ticketed Event Hire (sliding scale):

0–150 audience: £180

151–250 audience: £390

251–550 audience: £650
Capacity: 550 people (max) including balcony. with seating downstairs for 300 and 250 in the balcony.
A caretaker is required for all performance hires to assist with set-up, remain on site during the event and secure the building afterwards. This is charged at £14 per hour.
Event organisers are responsible for providing their own stewards, bar staff (if serving alcohol or refreshments), staging, lighting and PA sound system where required. If you'd like to offer a bar, we can recommend a trusted local supplier to run this for your event.
A downstairs room in the Community Centre is available as a green room/backstage space for £50 per event. It includes a shower, toilet facilities and a small kitchen.
As the church operates as a public space and café Monday to Friday, 10.00am–3.30pm, daytime access for set-up during these hours incurs a £200 café closure fee to cover lost income. This charge does not apply on Saturdays.
Please note that Sunday bookings are not available, as the church is in use for worship throughout the day.

Adelaide Room
Approx. 45.5m²
The Adelaide Room is a flexible, hard-floored space suitable for meetings, workshops, classes and rehearsals. It is also frequently used as a dressing room and green room for artists performing at St George's Church.
The room benefits from its own kitchen, toilet and shower facilities, along with a large TV screen that can be connected to a laptop or USB drive for presentations, videos and slideshows.

Main Hall

The Main Hall is the largest of our community rooms, offering a bright, versatile space with a hard floor and a full mirrored wall. It is ideal for dance and movement classes, exercise sessions, yoga, rehearsals, workshops, meetings and community events.
The room is equipped with a projector and screen, making it suitable for presentations, talks and training sessions.
