Advent and Christmas Services

at

St George's Church

Advent II Sunday 8th December

We remember the Prophets who foretold the coming of Jesus and the coming of the kingdom.  They asked for social justice, and reminded us of our short fallings....

Do we still listen to their words?

(This morning service will be followed by the parish Christmas Lunch)

Advent III Sunday 15th December

We remember John the Baptist.  The last of the Prophets and  preacher of the Kingdom coming in the person of Jesus....

Do we still believe in the coming of the Kingdom and do we work for it?

Advent IV Sunday 22nd December

We remember Mary the mother of Jesus.  Mary who said "yes!"  Do we still say "yes" when Jesus calls, no matter what we are asked to do?

(This Sunday, as with many families, we bring a decoration for our Christmas tree).

Nine Lessons and Carols  18:00 on 22nd December

A service where we can join in with traditional Christmas Carols and listen to the story of God's redemption in Jesus.

Christingle 16:00 on Christmas Eve (Tuesday 24th December)
